SUNDAYS WITH BUN


Sundays are deeply meaningful to me because it’s a time that’s reserved for the people I love. Sundays are, also, meaningful to me because it’s about taking a break from the overstimulation and fast-living we have become accustomed to; so that we can ponder what’s truly meaningful, worthwhile, and wonderful to us; while transforming ourselves, our lives, and the world—through good food. To this end, there are three experiences that take place at the Miya’s farm in Woodbridge, CT, on Sundays from May to October. All the experiences are lead personally by me, are kept small and intimate, while happening socially distanced outdoors.
THE NATURE DINNER: The dinner starts at 5:00 pm. Our Flaming Cock sake, invasive mugwort liquor, and local beers and sustainable wines are also included. All tables are socially-distanced, outdoors, but configured in way that encourages connection.
THE FORAGING EXPERIENCE: Foraging starts at 2:00 pm. Its focus is on common weeds and invasive plants and their preparation. You’ll make and take home tea, soup, herb vinegar, and liquor—all made from weeds. The Foraging Experience includes the Nature Dinner.
THE WHOLE SHEBANG: We begin at noon with fishing at a nearby pond where we will humanely kill and prepare the fish we catch. The sushi-making experience that follows features recipes that embody important approaches to conscientious eating. The Whole Shebang includes fishing, sushi-making, The Foraging Experience, and preparing the Nature Dinner.

* Prices are exclusive of 6.35% sales tax and 20% administrative fee.
* If you have little ones, feel free to bring them to our Farm Dinner. Dinner for them is on us.
* We ask that everybody wear masks when not eating.
